What a cute engagement session this was at Philadelphia Waterworks! On this day, exactly one year ago Ryan proposed to Rachel. They were surrounded by family & friends at Philadelphia Waterworks. As luck would have it, I was there to capture the surprise engagement. You see, I was in Philadelphia attending a workshop by YouTube content creator Brandon Cole. I was attending the workshop so I could learn about posing in general. I'm very much a candid photographer and I'm always looking to up my game when it comes to client experience, so I attended a workshop when Brandon Cole came to Philadelphia. I was tipped off by Sarah who was hiding in the bushes that Ryan was going to propose. While all of the other photographers attending chose to photograph the model, I made sure I captured the love story that was unfolding. I gave Sarah our information, and when Rachel reached out I sent the photos right over. I was absolutely thrilled to have captured their love story at Philadelphia Waterworks.

A year later, Rachel + Ryan inquired about doing an official engagement session to celebrate their engagement at the same place Ryan proposed; Philadelphia Waterworks. We started off doing photos around the city of Philadelphia. Rachel wanted photos of the skyline in the background. I honestly never have been to Philadelphia during the week and in the fall. It was breathtaking to say the least.

After walking in parks, and doing some photos nearly in the street, we took to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for photos. When we got there, Lauren made a comment about how the steps Rocky climbed in the movies seemed a-lot larger. She admitted she didn't want to have to go up and down the steps for a workout though haha

Afterwards, we headed to the Philadelphia Waterworks but off to the side of the steps for the museum, I found a nice little nook that had sun peeking through the trees..

I have to say, Rachel + Ryan were so fun and were up to any photo-op we threw at them. Upon walking to Philadelphia Waterworks we found the sun again, this time it was in the street. If you know me, you know I love taking photos in the street. Rachel + Ryan were totally game and the sun flare was so dreamy!

As the sun was setting, we made it to Philadelphia Waterworks. The colors of the background were so stunning. Lauren and I are absolutely obsessed with these!

On the way back, Rachel asked if we could take some pictures with these rocks as the background. She was thrilled because we were at Philadelphia Waterworks, but she said it looked like they were in the mountains. I agree with that. Rachel has such an eye for creativity!

Rachel + Ryan's love story at Philadelphia Waterworks has been a year in the making for me. Please join us in wishing them a happy engagement! We look forward to joining Rachel & Ryan in March for their destination wedding in Mexico!
