Lauren & I met Dana quite a few years ago. Back when Ava(now in high-school) needed a babysitter. She watched Ava and our son Tony during summer break. We actually met her through Pam. Pam was one of Lauren's best friends at work. It wasn't until I made a post about Johnny Depp that Dana remembered we do photography. She was already engaged to Jerry, which she has been with for a very long time. I first met Jerry during a consult with Dana, and he was so down to earth and so in love with Dana. In fact, Dana too was very in love with Jerry. We've photographed a ton of weddings and I don't think I've ever seen a couple look at each other the way Dana & Jerry do.
The venue was set, they both had decided on Deerfield Golf Club and had all their other vendors booked except for photography. Dana was sure she wanted to have us at her wedding, After all, she did babysit our kids when they were younger! I've never seen a bride so happy to be a wife. It made me melt every time she said it "Omg! I'm a wife!".
September 11th, 2022 was a wonderful day. It started off with rain showers at Deerfield Golf Club (a sign of good luck that your marriage will last) so we had to move most of the festivities indoors. Deerfield Golf Club is a wonderful venue. With lots of beautiful light in various rooms. Not to mention the hospitality. Dana could not get over how helpful Alex and the whole team at Deerfield was. Alex even came in on her day off so that way she could see Dana on her wedding day. That was so sweet of her! Speaking of hospitality, I loved how the staff at Deerfield Golf Club had Dana + Jerry do a first look of the reception space. Dana's face said it all! Everything down to the seat cushions were in her color scheme; Teal. Oh and by the way, Dana's favorite color is blue. She loves her blue hair, and all her colors in the reception space were like a monochromatic blueish teal. Very unique.
Dana's dad Jason got ordained just so he could do the ceremony at Deerfield Golf Club for her and Jerry. There was also a time during the ceremony where Jason had Jerry repeat "And if I mess this up, your dad will kick my ass" during the I do's. After a wonderful ceremony, first look at the reception space, first dance, special dances etc we went outside at Deerfield Golf Club to take pictures at the water fountain and the oak tree; two of Dana's favorite places to take pictures. Even though the rain subsided, it was still cloudy out. So the Shutter & Snap team brought the sunset to Deerfield Golf Club with them by using flash tricks to recreate a sunset for Dana + Jerry.
