For the better part of 3 months I've been hearing my daughter repeat a snippet of this song for what seems like constantly "I'll dance, dance, dance, with my hands, hands, hands". I'd be lying to you if I said it didn't get old. Within the first week my wife and I had enough haha. Well apparently it's from this show called "Wednesday" on Netflix. For her birthday, she got two $25 amazon gift cards and they just sat here for a few days. The next thing I know, my wife ordered the whole Wednesday Addams look; Dress, wig & shoes. Jokingly, I said "that would be a cool photoshoot idea for "Wednesday Addams Pictures" with her portraying Wednesday.

I had been talking with a photographer colleague about all things portraits. We talked about different ideas regarding using flash and natural light. And I'll be honest, he told me I needed to start using flash more like I used to. I feel like sometimes as photographers, we get into our heads sometimes. We forget who we are, and sometimes we need creative shoots so we can come back into ourselves and return to the why. My why? I want to create striking portraits; and with these Wednesday Addams pictures, we did just that.

It was a warm day yesterday, 60 degrees in the beginning of March. So my wife Lauren, and daughter Mia headed out to Marian Coffin Gardens in Wilmington and we set to create some dynamic imagery. At the time of writing, Wednesday Addams is my daughters favorite character. I was surprised at how easy portraying this character came to her at only 7 years old. Marian Coffin Gardens was the perfect backdrop with castle esque backdrops with the big gate to the winding steps. Not to mention this time of year everything all the flowers are dead, so it set the perfect stage for Wednesday Addams pictures.
